Mask

The world's gone crazy and deceptive. Nearly everyone has mastered the skill of separating one human from other based on differences that even our creator wouldn't have thought of. This might represent those who have taken the blows of this evil.......

I just saw a face amidst the crowd,
A sweet smile, was all it reflected.
Innocence was the message given out aloud,
Inner beauty was what I interpreted.
All amazed, I watched the face,
Always lit up, with a smile too sweet.
All I could do was nothing but gaze,
&could’ve done that till death came to greet.
Soon I got surrounded with faces,
Joyous and sweet, they all seemed.
They took me through mesmerizing phases,
All of which had, my eyes misted.
I took it on faith and closed my eyes,
And opened my heart, for every face.
At first it seemed all smooth and nice,
Soon it ended up in a haze.
The rain poured down and hit the mask,
And I saw around me some tainted face.
The drop from the sky did its task,
Couldn’t believe, water set things ablaze!!
The faces had masks with colors god never made,
But the paints of divisions that man had made.
I wished if the paints, would somehow fade,
But to fade is not for what they are made.
I stumbled, I slipped, I fell and moaned,
I couldn’t find the strength to stand on my own.
The painted faces had my heart stoned,
They were not the same they had shown.
My nears and dears were all in row,
I knew I had to get on, with it alone.
They told me that I should never bow,
Rather I must have the masks blown.
Those words gave me the strength to stand,
I raised my sound, hand and my head.
And on my feet I tried to stand,
To do so I left my heart dead.
I no more care for the painted masks,
But for my near n dear and their tasks.
This needs me to perform a dreaded task,
That is to gift myself a mask.
Mask that hides all my grit,
My pain, my sorrow and the rest of it.
